DiPA-KOM Workshop „Demokratie- und MINT-Bildung für und mit Kindern gestalten“

On the 25. of September 2025 our workshop „Create Democracy and STEM-Education for and with Children“ in context of the EFRE project   DiPA-KOMtook place in the rooms on the third floor of the University Library at the OVGU Magdeburg.

The aim of this open Workshop was to have a plattform for the exchange of best practice methods and materials for democracy-, STEM- and media education, for networking with professionals, researchers and children, and to develop joint ideas and implementation strategies for nursery and school settings.

Around 120 Children from 5 different nurseries and around 50 adults took part and many collegues from other disciplines attended the workshop.

Especially noteworthy was the children’s open and innovative approach to using digital and analogue tools at the experimental stations . We as team were able to see, with how much confidence the children explored their world in a playful way, and how happily they tried out both familiar and new technologies in the process.

The day was marked by the keen interest shown by the professionals in the design of the experimantal stations and their commitment to putting their own ideas into practice within their organisations. The workshop also provided a forum for constructive dialogue between academia and practitioners on current public debates involving and concerning the media.
