Image & Video Retrieval
Content based Multimedia-Retrieval-Systems schould enable the user a search for multimedia objecs (as images, videos and music peaces) in huge databases with the help of content describing criteria. Contend describing criteria means i.e. shown objects, activities and situations in images, which mostly could only be understood with a human interpretation.
Within our research we develop interactive systems which should ease the access to huge archives of images and videos et cetera through a content based structuring and visualization. The current research range from elementary image analysing methods over methods for semi-automatic annotation to the development of complex context sensitive interfaces for search and navigation.
